Prison governor looking for solutions
Some prisoners need mental health treatment, rather than punishment - so says the prison governor and head of probation.
Bob McColm believes - in some cases - it's unnecessary for those suffering with conditions to be passed into the criminal justice system.
Last year, it was revealed half of inmates at the Isle of Man Prison had some form of mental health issue.
Out of 86 prisoners - 12 had personality disorders, two had psychiatric conditions like bi-polar, and 29 suffered from depression.
Bob McColm says a solution is yet to be found:
Main road between Peel and Douglas to shut for tree felling
'Targeted and intelligence led approach' to protect Island's borders during Irish sailings
Airport Director role advertised with top salary of £120,000
