Year since devastating floods
A private function is being held in Laxey today (3 Dec) to thank the local community for their support in the aftermath of last year's devastating floods.
Starting at the Ballacregga Cornmill Tea Rooms from 2pm, the gathering's been organised by Stewart Clague to thank all those involved in rebuilding work.
He owns the tea rooms as well as the Salmon Lake Centre, which was severely damaged during the floods.
Mr Clague says with the traumatic experience now behind the village, some 'thank you's' are in order:
Death of MGP competitor deemed accidental by inquest
Flooding caused by 'sealed off' gulley, says Douglas Council
Sailings delayed after adverse weather affects Manxman crossing
