It's hoped passengers will be using the tramway by 2028
Passengers using the Douglas horse tramway should be able to travel the full length of the promenade once again by the 2028 summer season.
The Department of Infrastructure has told Manx Radio that a tender process is being developed prior to launch early next year.
The construction programme to extend the tramway from the bottom of Broadway to the Sea Terminal is provisionally forecast to run for around 35 weeks.
Infrastructure Minister Jason Moorhouse says it's hoped there'll be more information soon.
