Teenager had drugs posted to wrong address

Police alerted to suspicious package by postal workers

A court’s heard a teen was caught trying to have drugs posted to him after he gave the wrong delivery address.

Seventeen-year-old Nathan Isaac Cain of Rosemount in Douglas appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas courthouse.

He pleaded guilty to one count of producing MDMA to the Isle of Man.

Prosecution advocate Barry Swain told the hearing a householder in Heather Crescent in Pulrose found a missed delivery slip for a parcel they weren’t expecting.

Cain went to Post Office headquarters in Braddan to collect the package, despite not having the slip.

Staff became suspicious and police arrested the teenager after finding more than 27 grammes of the class A drug in the parcel.

The drugs were 60% pure, with a street value of just over £1,100.

Cain was bailed in the sum of £500 and Mrs Hughes committed him to a Court of General Gaol Delivery for sentencing on 25 November.
