18 year-old sentenced to three and a half months
An 18-year-old Crosby man who assaulted a police officer had been sent to prison for three and a half months.
Jason Craig Quayle, of Reayrt Ny Chrink was found by police asleep in a bus shelter on Lord Street, Douglas, just after 7am on July 23.
He had been drinking at a party the previous night, having only been released from prison two days previously.
Quayle verbally abused the officers who found and woke him, and continued to do so when he was taken to police headquarters.
Whilst there, he spat in the face of an officer, PC Cullivan, then tried to kick him whilst he was being restrained.
Sentencing Quayle, Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes said his behaviour had been appalling.
Quayle has been sent to prison for a total of 14 weeks and has been banned from licensed premises, and from buying alcohol, for 12 months.
