Teaching unions and home schoolers to appear before committee

Evidence on Education Bill to be heard on 14 June

A Tynwald committee will hear evidence from union representatives on the proposed Education Bill next month.

Officials from the NASUWT and the Association of School and College Leaders are due to speak to the Social Affairs Policy Review Committee on 14 June.

Members of the Manx Home Education Association and home schooler Tristram Llewellyn Jones are also scheduled to appear.

It was announced last month that plans to bring the bill before Tynwald had been delayed in order to allow time for the proposals to be altered.

The evidence will be heard in the Legislative Council Chamber from 1.30pm.
