Comes as dispute with DESC over pay continues to escalate
A teaching union says it wants a "Manx solution to Manx problems", as a dispute with the education department over pay and working conditions continues.
Members of the NASUWT have already escalated actions short of strike, which has seen some high schools ask year groups to work from home as they don't have enough staff to safely manage break times.
They've now also voted in favour of strike action.
Geraldine O'Neil is the local negotiating secretary:
The education minister, Julie Edge, says she's doing everything she can for teachers, and is urging the union to de-escalate the action while they continue negotiations so the students don't have to suffer any further.
