Taxi driver pleads guilty to causing death of Carolyn Buchan

David Evans to be sentenced in September

A 66-year-old taxi driver has admitted causing the death of Douglas woman Carolyn Buchan earlier this year.

David Alan Evans, of Tynwald Street, pleaded guilty to careless or inconsiderate driving on Marathon Avenue at Douglas Courthouse today.

The body of the 73-year-old was found in the road just after 7am on 20 March.

Evans also admitted committing an act against public justice by giving police an incorrect statement designed to mislead the investigation.

There was no application for bail and Evans will be remanded at the Isle of Man Prison until he’s sentenced on 21 September.
