Changes are being brought in earlier than originally planned
The Isle of Man Post Office has blamed a number of tariff increases - which are being brought in early, on "substantial, escalating costs".
Chairman, and MHK, Stu Peters, has told Manx Radio upward pressures on operating costs are anticipated well into the following business year.
He also insisted the new tariffs will ensure the service's profitability going forward.
The new prices will take effect from January 9th and will see the cost of a standard Isle of Man to UK stamp rise from 73 pence to 80 pence.
