Nine missing sailors from a Liberian tanker which collided with a Manx vessel a week ago have been found dead, according to reports in South East Asia.
Two publications claim the bodies of crew from the Formosaproduct Brick - found on Friday and Saturday - were badly burned.
The Isle of Man-registered Ostende Max was damaged in the incident in the Malacca Straits last Tuesday, but all on board survived.
According to Malaysia's "The Star Online" two bodies were found on Friday and the remaining seven on Saturday.
"The Straits Times" - a publication from Singapore - quotes the marine police chief as saying only bones remained following an on-board fire.
As a result of the collision both vessels had fires, however the Liberian tanker remained alight for more than forty hours.
Two crew from the Douglas registered Ostende Max were treated in hospital for burns.
Investigators from the Isle of Man Shipping Registry are in Malaysia trying to establish what caused the accident.
