Fishing industry meets with Government
The fishing industry and the government meet today to discuss issues centred on the size of queenie catches.
After two surveys were produced in the summer, one from Bangor University and the other commissioned by the Manx Fish Producers, there has been a difference of opinion on the numbers of queenies that can be taken around the Island without damaging stocks.
Fishing so far has centred on an area off Douglas which both surveys showed to be well populated.
A very limited catch is allowed in Ramsey Bay.
