Charity's chief scientist to discuss the progress of research into the disease

A talk on the Island is hoping to highlight 'hope is on the horizon' when it comes to Motor Neuron Disease.

The degenerative condition effects a person's ability to control their body, and is ultimately fatal.

But Dr Brian Dickie is the chief scientist at the Motor Neuron Disease Association.

He believes they're close to finding out what causes it, and ultimately therefore being able to treat it:

Dr Dickie will be giving his talk tomorrow evening (Thursday, 16 October) from 7pm at St John's Church Hall.
