Tynwald votes tomorrow (Tuesday) on who should have the top job in Manx politics.
There are two contenders - Economic Development Minister and Ramsey MHK Allan Bell, and the Liberal Vannin Party leader and Onchan MHK Peter Karran.
Mr Karran a backbencher, has been proposed and seconded by Lib Van colleagues in the Keys.
Manx Radio's political commentator Charles Cain is surprised Mr Karran's chosen to go for the top job, rather than exert party influence elsewhere:
