Plans to relax the Island’s work permit rules in a bid to stimulate economic development have been welcomed by the president of the Isle of Man Bankers' Association.
Later this month, Tynwald will be asked to approve a series of proposals which, among other things, would allow for an increase in the number of days people from off-Island could work here without a permit.
Earlier this week, a union leader voiced concern the changes could dent the prospects of Manx workers, at a time of increased worry over job security.
However, John Coyle says the proposals would help certain companies do business more efficiently:
Some trailers got 'lost' during recent backlog of freight at Heysham
Police told to reassess FOI response
Census support available from next week
Mobile classroom needed to 'alleviate' pressure at Henry Bloom Primary School
