Treasury Minister Allan Bell has told the House of Keys that wherever possible, local firms will continue to get government contracts.
He was quizzed by MHKs on the issue, following a question from Onchan MHK Peter Karran about the tendering process.
Mr Bell was asked whether Manx companies should be preferred over United Kingdom rivals when the government needed work to be carried out.
He said there had been no change of policy and the answer was clear:
Plan for future of Hospice to be brought forward 'during this administration'
Online gambling sector subject to more 'rigorous scrutiny' than ever before
Plans to create a 'people's mandate' for prospective election candidates
Open Farm event inspires next generation of Manx farmers
