Fire crews called out to multiple incidents
Shortly before 3pm, crews from Ramsey station were called out to a school following reports of a fire in a mobile classroom.
On arrival, firefighters wearing breathing apparatus found a small fire involving a wall heater, believed to have been caused by a lanyard being placed on top of it.
Officers say the fire was quickly extinguished and the area made safe.
Shortly after, at 3:15pm, Laxey crews were called out to a fire that had been extinguished by contractors on scene.
It's believed the fire started after a small area of carpet ignited when sunlight was reflected onto it by a mirror.
Although the fire was quickly extinguished, there was smoke spread throughout the property which needed to be ventilated.
The Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service has issued a reminder that mirrors and other reflective surfaces can concentrate sunlight and generate significant heat.
People are being urged to take care when positioning mirrors or glass objects, particularly during bright weather, and to keep them away from combustible materials such as curtains, carpets and furnishings.
