Buses will not be running from Lord Street
Road closures will be in place across parts of Douglas today for the return of the Douglas Criterium cycle races tomorrow.
The event, organised by the Manx Viking Wheelers Cycling Club, will see competitors take on a closed-road circuit around the town between 8am and 2pm on Sunday (13 September).
The course includes Athol Street, Lord Street, Quines Corner, North Quay, Market Hill, Barrack Street and Church Street, with all adjoining junctions also affected by the closure.
Marshals will be stationed around the course to manage safety and control access, while temporary crossings may be allowed when it is safe to do so.
Bus Vannin says buses to Ramsey and Willaston will divert via Finch Road to Bucks Road while buses to Peel, Port Erin and Anagh Coar will divert via Finch Road and Circular Road to the Brown Bobby
Buses arriving in Douglas from Peel, Port Erin and Ramsey will terminate at the Loch Promenade Bottleneck car park stop
People are being advised to plan ahead and allow extra time for journeys in and around the capital while the event is taking place.
Meanwhile, the loading bay adjacent to Peveril Buildings on Loch Promenade will be suspended between 8am and 2pm and used as a temporary bus stop.
The roads are expected to reopen once racing has concluded.
