Icelandic academic visiting Island museums
How Vikings are portrayed at the Manx Museum and the House of Manannan will form part of a new research project by a visiting Icelandic academic.
Dr Gudrun Whitehead is carrying out a comparative study of exhibitions in Norway, Iceland and Britain.
The Assistant Professor at the University of Iceland is visiting both Manx facilities this week.
Dr Whitehead says many museums are trying to expand on the stereotypical perception of Viking warriors:
