Students call for more research into renewable energy

Castle Rushen High School pupils debate windfarm proposals

Students from one of the Island's secondary schools are calling for more research into other forms of renewable energy before plans for an onshore windfarm are progressed.

Pupils from Castle Rushen High School have been debating the issue alongside Tynwald members.

At this year's Junior Tynwald, Breesha Jenkins won support for her amendment calling for the impact on the environment and wildlife to be considered in a debate on wind turbines.

Manx Radio's Political Correspondent Phil Gawne spoke to Breesha and classmates Camilla Perrie, Lizzy Thompson, Eugenie Thompson and Luke McMahon:
