Routine inspections will take place in the following days to check that the Island's most popular routes are unaffected
Residents are being advised to avoid the Island's forests and glens as strong gales are expected to cause sufficient damage to trees.
The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture says these winds could be as minor as a broken branch or severe as multiple uprooted trees.
Routine inspections will be carried out in the following days to check that the Island's most popular routes are unaffected.
If anyone does venture out later in the week and spots any damage, they are urged to contact the department through its Facebook page or by sending an email to forestry@gov.im.
