Google is playing down past controversy over its Streetview service, as the company's camera cars map the roads of the Isle of Man.
The firm's European policy associate Luke Delaney told Manx Radio most opposition seemed to come from a lack of understanding.
He said Google's cars operated in public areas, so material available on Streetview was only what anybody would be able to see with their own eyes.
Faces and car number plates are blurred out and there is a further safguard, in that people can ask for images to be removed, if they aren't happy with them:
