Civil Defence urges property owners to tie down loose items

Multiple agencies have spent the morning assessing the damage caused by Storm Isha overnight.

Winds of around 70mph were recorded at Ronaldsway Met Office as a number of trees came down on the Island's roads.

The Department of Infrastructure says its teams responded to 43 incidents on Sunday evening:

The section of Peel Road around the Brown Bobby has reopened after the roof of the petrol station began to come off in the winds.

Meanwhile, with strong winds forecast for the rest of the week, Civil Defence Isle of Man is advising property owners to check for damage and tie down any loose items in the garden.

Douglas Council says the Summerhill Glen illuminations were damaged during last night's winds - its Electrical Services Team hopes to have them switched back on in a few days.
