Clean-up takes place after multiple downed trees and power lines

UPDATE: The Mountain Road is reopening at 10am.

The winds have died down and power has been restored to much of the Island that was cut off by Storm Darragh.

Update from Manx Uitilities at 10am: 'Customers in the Foxdale, Ballamodha, St Marks and the surrounding areas unfortunately experienced further interruptions of their supply late yesterday evening and into the early hours of this morning whilst our teams undertook further fault location and restoration of supplies in the area.

'Our teams were out first thing this morning and are working as a priority to restore supplies to a small number of customers who remain off supply following the impact of Storm Darragh.'

On the roads: police have been working to keep the Island's main arterial roads open, but warn more trees may have come down overnight.

And flights are due to resume at Ronaldsway Airport which is reopening after closing for the entirety of yesterday.

As of 6:30am there are no weather warnings in place with the Met Office saying today should be mostly fine and dry.

It's expected to still be quite windy though, with the northerly winds 'remaining strong'.
