The Isle of Man Natural History and Antiquarian Society is hosting a public lecture about... quartz.
The stone is described as "white, reflective and luminous in moonlight, [but] also decorative, mutable, and electrically-charged."
Taking place at 2:30pm on Saturday in the iMuseum, the talk will discuss the wide variety of uses of quartz throughout the Isle of Man's history, from Neolithic times to the modern day - from walls and gateposts, to charms and talismans.
