Fire crews deal with incident at Richmond Hill facility
Fire crews were called to the Energy From Waste Site yesterday (Tues 6th) to deal with a steam turbine fire.
A team from Douglas was dispatched to Richmond Hill shortly before 10am.
The fire had already been extinguished when firefighters arrived, but the machinery was retaining heat and there were concerns it could reignite.
Crews worked with on-site specialists to create a safe system of work and prevent the turbine from catching fire again, removing insulating lagging and checking for hotspots.
The turbine wasn't damaged by the blaze.
