A rescue boat from the Ben-my-Chree went to the aid of a small vessel at the weekend.
The craft, with four people on board, suffered engine failure off Douglas Breakwater.
The Isle of Man Coastguard asked if the rescue boat from the ferry could help.
It launched from the 'Ben', which was in the harbour, took the boat in tow and brought it to the Victoria Pier.
Nobody was injured during the incident, and the four people aboard were met by coastguard volunteers.
The incident happened at about 7.30pm on Saturday.
