Manannan is operating on three engines, leading to delays
The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company says it is working to restore one of its vessels to full operational speed.
It's after a problem was detected with the control systems of one of Manannan's four main engines during passage on Saturday (5 April).
The company says the vessel’s crew, engineering staff and representatives of the control system manufacturer have 'been working round the clock' to restore full power to the vessel by a process of systematic testing and fault finding.
In the meantime, Manannan is operating on three engines, but that means it is 'slightly slower than usual'.
The Steam Packet says there may be an increase in crossing times until the situation is resolved.
Delays have already been seen on sailings - you can read more here.
Passengers on any sailings affected will be contacted via text or email to inform them of any changes to plans.
Where changes mean passengers are unable to travel on their original bookings, full refunds or amends will be made free of charge.
The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company has apologised for any inconvenience caused by this situation.
Manannan re-entered service on the Liverpool, Belfast and Dublin routes last week following its routine winter overhaul and maintenance schedule.
