Ashford asked what influence government has on prices
The setting of fares for Steam Packet services is the responsibility of the company's board according to the treasury minister:
In Tynwald this week David Ashford was asked, by Middle MHK Stu Peters, what influence government has on ferry prices.
The minister said the company operates at 'arms-length' from Tynwald after the Manx Government purchased the organisation for £124million in 2018:
