Travel union says the Company dismissed two gay women online
The Isle of Man Steam Packet is being accused of discrimination after dismissing two gay women.
That's according to a flyer being distributed by transport union, RMT.
It says the company dismissed the women via email, and claims the reason behind it was 'because they are lesbians and live in each others pockets.'
In response, a full statement from the Company says:
"The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company does not generally comment publicly on private matters relating to its employees or former employees. However, in this case we wish to make clear that the allegations are absurd nonsense and we are surprised that the RMT, which has a long-standing and productive relationship with the Company, has allowed these statements to be issued in its name".
