Vandals have torn down the centrepiece of a tranquil public garden in the heart of Douglas.
A bronze statue of a Greek athlete was uprooted from its plinth in the rose garden in Glen Falcon Road, and dragged onto a path. Repairs will cost at least £2,000.
It happened sometime between last Thursday evening and Friday morning .
Police want to trace anyone with information about a large group of youths seen drinking in the garden on Thursday night.
