
A new £4.2 million facility for elderly people with mental health problems could be a sign of things to come, as health chiefs respond to the Island's rapidly growing ageing population.
That's according to the former member for social services, Dudley Butt, MLC, after he opened Thie Meanagh, an elderly mentally infirm unit at Farmhill in Douglas.
Mr Butt says statistics show there will continue to be a great need for facilities which provide purpose-built residential and respite care:
