A further attempt is to be made to spruce up the vacant building in Strand Street, Douglas formerly occupied by Woolworths.
'Woolies' ceased trading on December 29, 2008 and Douglas Councillors are unhappy the premises will be empty at Christmas, and something of an eye-sore, for a third year running.
White hoardings were placed outside the building in June this year, following renewed complaints from retailers in the area that their businesses were being affected by its run-down appearance.
Works Committee chairman David Ashford hopes this time a splash of colour will make a difference:
