
Island residents listened to police advice ahead of New Year celebrations to have a good time - but not end up on the wrong side of the law.
That's according to Inspector Mark Britton following Wednesday night's celebrations.
Nonetheless, there were 45 incidents recorded between 8pm New Year's Eve and 8am New Year's Day, and special constables were drafted in to help regular police in their patrols.
Inspector Britton says bad behaviour won't be tolerated and is reminding motorists that officers remain on the lookout for those tempted to drink and drive:
