Special constables praised for 'amazing' TT efforts

Volunteer to do 124 duties over the fortnight

Volunteer police officers have been thanked for giving up their time over the TT fortnight.

The Isle of Man Constabulary says special constables have volunteered for 124 duties over the period.

These cover things like response, night time economy patrols and special events.

Three men working in the Roads Policing Unit are providing 38 twelve-hour shifts - they have 40 years of service between them.

The constabulary says the TT is a ‘huge event’ to police for a small force and it’s ‘amazing’ that the special constables give up their time to contribute to it.
