The chief minister has confirmed proposals which could have led to passport checks for travel between the United Kingdom, the Isle of Man and Ireland have been scrapped.
Tony Brown says he has been assured the coalition government will not go ahead with reforms to the Common Travel Area.
That could have led to border checks, and required Manx travellers to carry passports on journeys between the three jurisdictions.
Speaker of the Keys Steve Rodan was given an update from Mr Brown in a written Tynwald answer.
