
Report due to be considered in Tynwald next month
Castletown Commissioners believes closing the Southern Swimming Pool could have a detrimental effect on pupils academically.
It comes after the Department of Education, Sport and Culture is expected to recommend to Tynwald that the facility be closed from the end of March, and save more than £430,000.
The local authority has previously labelled the move 'crass', and thinks money should be made available.

Meanwhile, the chair of the Northern Local Authority Swimming Pool Board says the Regional Sports Hub report has 'nothing' to do with the facilities and is actually about closing pools.
