Board member hopes replacement can become a 'destination'
The south of the Island needs a sports facility not 'just a pool', according to one of the current pool's board members.
Barbara Brereton, who's also the vice-chair of Malew Parish Commissioners, wants to see the replacement for the current pool become 'a destination'.
The Department of Education, Sport and Culture recently published an image showing a swimming pool included in the design for the replacement Castle Rushen High School.
Mrs Brereton is keen to see more variety:
Meanwhile, having two government departments with responsibility for regional pools is 'absolutely daft'.
That's the view of former Chief Minister Tony Brown after the DESC and Department of Infrastructure recently published a report into regional sports hubs.
But Mr Brown, who served as MHK for Castletown until 2011, thinks one minister needs to take sole responsibility:
