Format's revival continues despite digital boom
For the first time in many years, Douglas is getting a shop dedicated to vinyl records.
Sound Records opens its doors today (21 April), to coincide with international commemorations for Record Store Day.
Previously a pop-up shop in Village Walk, Onchan during the Christmas period last year, the business is now taking up a permanent residency on the ground floor of the former Peter Luis building on Duke Street.
Earlier this week, the British Phonographic Industry reported a continued resurgence in the format, with 4.1 million recorded sales in 2017.
