12 female candidates have delcared for election so far
The new president of Tynwald says he'll 'keep an eye' on male Tynwald members being rude or dismissive to female members of the court.
The claim came from a caller to the Mannin Line this lunchtime, who said it was 'no wonder' more women don't put themselves forward for Tynwald.
Fifty-four people have declared they're standing for election this coming September, of whom twelve are women.
Four constituencies are yet to field a female candidate.
