Tony Hawk donates signed skateboard to raise funds for new equipment
Legendary skateboarder Tony Hawk has lent his support to plans for a new skate park in Castletown.
The American has donated a skateboard signed by him and several other famous skateboarders to be auctioned off to raise funds for the construction of the project.
Castletown Commissioner Jimmy Cubbon shared a video of the Birdman on Facebook, in which he wishes those behind the project luck, and says he hopes to come skate at the park when it's open.
Plans to replace the existing facility at Poulsom Park were unveiled in 2017, with the Manx Lottery Trust having given a £50,000 grant towards the cost of replacing the current ramps and rails.
