Peel Commissioner and former MHK to contest election

A sixth candidate has declared for Glenfaba and Peel in the upcoming House of Keys General Election.

Ray Harmer is currently a member of Peel Commissioners, and previously served as MHK for the area between 2015 and 2021.

He says: "I want to work with others to build a healthier, more sustainable, better connected, and more financially responsible Island. That means improving access to health and care, supporting young people with real opportunities, investing in infrastructure that works, strengthening transport links, protecting our environment, and making sure public money is spent wisely.

"I am also standing because I believe politics should be constructive. People are tired of arguments that go nowhere and promises that are not followed through. I will listen, work with others, challenge poor decisions when necessary, and focus on practical results rather than political point-scoring."

Also standing in the constituency are Katryna Baptist, Trevor Cowin, Colleen Dale-Beeton, James Hampton and Alex Perriam.
