Currently around 800 children and young people waiting for assessment
Six clinicians have been hired to help tackle the waiting list for child mental health services on the Isle of Man.
Currently around 800 children and young people are waiting for an assessment.
The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) team says lots of families have been in touch over the past few months asking for an update on the status of their referrals.
From next month, the new clinicians will proactively be reaching out to families with more information.
It's expected to take some 12 months to reduce the waiting list and priority will be given to those who need it most or have waited the longest.
Manx Care is asking parents and guardians to wait to be contacted rather than getting in touch for an update.
