Team excavating route between Port Erin and Port St Mary
The route along Four Roads to Beach Road is expected to stay shut until Thursday (26 February).
All through traffic between Port Erin and Port St Mary will be diverted via Castletown Road/Gansey/Beach Road.
The Department of Infrastructure says a team is excavating the road and the length of time the road will be closed will be determined once the full extent of the issue has been established.
The sink hole is located to the north of Station Hotel.
Access to the hotel will be from Port St Mary only, while all houses to the north of the Station Hotel will be accessible from Port Erin only.
