Katy tells teen: You're a Firework
A dream has come true for a terminally ill Island teenager - after a massive social media campaign to contact her biggest pop idol.
Singer Katy Perry sent a personal video message to Sophie Birtles after hearing about the 13-year old, who suffers from a rare genetic condition and is being cared for at Rebecca House Children's Hospice in the Island.
Katy was contacted through Twitter after Sophie's family revealed she was a huge fan and hearing from the US singer would bring the teenager great happiness.
A massive number of shares saw the message trend on Twitter - and eventually reach the target. A file from the singer arrived online this morning (2 May).
