The Island resident offered to commit sums of money for every participant in the charity's annual walk
The annual Sight Matters Coast 2 Coast Walk received a significant boost this year after a local resident pledged to donate £1,000 for every participant.
Nearly half a million pounds has been handed over to the charity, which supports the Isle of Man’s blind and visually impaired community.
The donor, Ivan Soulsbury, was motivated by a personal connection, as his grandmother experienced sight loss.
The £490,000 donation will safeguard the charity’s services and comes at a crucial time, as Sight Matters is facing increasing demand for assistance.
