Fresh doubts raised over move
A Douglas councillor says education chiefs need to substantiate claims the fusion of two Island primary schools will work.
From September 2018, St Thomas’ pupils will relocate to Scoill Vallajeelt in Saddlestone.
The Island’s only Church of England school, St Thomas has limited outdoor space and is in need of investment but will retain its own identity with the Department of Education and Children insisting a shared campus will benefit children from both schools.
However, Claire Wells, a parent of two at Vallajeelt, says she is waiting to see if the department can back up its statement with evidence.
