MHK to ask about plans to increase contribution in House of Keys
A Member of the House of Keys believes Manx patients heading to the UK for medical treatment need to be given more funds towards accommodation and travel.
The Department of Health and Social Care provides a contribution to those who have appointments off Island.
However, Onchan member Rob Callister has been contacted by local residents who have found the allowance doesn't always cover the full cost.
He says last-minute problems can cause an issue:
Mr Callister will ask the Health Minister about the contribution at next week's sitting of the House of Keys.
