
Michael MHK Alf Cannan says it’s important for the government to shop local when it comes to capital projects.
In the House of Keys this week, he quizzed Treasury Minister Eddie Teare about the government’s policy on using local suppliers.
Mr Teare said it was sometimes difficult under the government’s purchasing rules – and recently at Bemahague School some local contractors weren’t interested in the work.
Mr Cannan says it’s still something that needs careful consideration:
