
A senior duty advocate at Police Headquarters in Douglas believes there would be fewer victims of violent crime in the Isle of Man if the sale of alcohol could be restricted in some way.
Having just finished two week's service in the role, he says he couldn't believe how busy he had been with cases involving violence caused by alcohol abuse.
Speaking on Manx Radio, he also questioned the effectiveness of the Manx government's Drug and Alcohol Strategy:
