
The man in charge of the Manx Ship Registry has spoken of the vital importance of ensuring all the vessels signed up are operated to the highest possible standards.
Dick Welsh says there are stringent pre-registration checks and, with the Island's international reputation at stake, no stone is left unturned.
It follows two serious incidents involving vessels registered here, in the Far East and off the coast of Holland:
